It is another budget smartphone from Indian smartphone company MICROMAX called MICROMAX A96 CANVAS POWER.You can easily guess it's speciality from its name that its battery backup is very good.It comes with massive 4000 mah battery for high-power so that you can easily use your smartphone without charging it all the time.
It is a dual sim smartphone with dual standby mode but does its performance is also good like it battery backup?let's find this in our review.
AVALAIBILITY AND PRICE:-
It was launched on February 2014 and available on market with 8000INR price tag.
SCREEN AND DESIGN:-
MICROMAX A96 CANVAS POWER is a large 5 inches TFT FWVGA capacitive multitouch upto 2 point touchscreen smartphone having 480*854 pixels screen resolution which is very small. Its display is not so sharp and also low brightness.Its readability under sunlight conditions is also not so good.It's viewing angle are also poor and vary from angle to angle.Its touchscreen is quite responsive and smooth too.
Now if we talk about its body design so it is nice but very heavy with 195 gms weight and also not so slim with 11.47mm thickness.Its body is looking nice and having matte finish with silver strip on both sides.
So overall its body design is nice but display is not up to mark.
OS:-
MICROMAX A96 CANVAS POWER runs on old ANDROID 4.2 Jellybean OS which is not cool.
MEMORY:-
It comes with 4 GB of internal storage which is expandable upto 32 GB via micro SD,but you will get only 1.44 GB assigned storage for apps and 1.14 GB user available space for storing media files and you can easily move apps to micro sd card which is good.
RAM AND PROCESSOR:-
MICROMAX A96 CANVAS POWER comes with 1.3 ghz quad core processor with Mediatek MT6582 chipset and 512MB ram.There is also a Mali 400 GPU for gaming.From 512MB of ram you will get only 291 MB of free usable ram which is very less and i think there should be atleast 768MB or 1GB of ram for good performance.Its performance in this low ram is also nice but it can't manage multitasking smoothly,and sometimes you can notice some lag but its performance in antutu benchmark is very good.If we are talking about its gaming performance so that it can easily run normal games smoothly but you can notice some lag during run some hd games like Asphalt 8 due to its low ram.
So overall its performance is just average.
CAMERA:-
It comes with 5MP fixedfocus rear camera which is capable of record HD 720p videos @ 30fps.There is also a 0.3MP front camera for video calling and a LED flashlight for low light conditions.It's camera performance is just average,clicked pics are not so crisp and details are also missing.Its performance in low light condition is also poor even after using LED flash light.Other camera features are Geo-tagging etc.
So overall its camera performance is not so good but average.
BATTERY AND FEATURES:-
It comes with huge 4000 mah li-po battery which gives 13.5 hrs talktime that means full 2 day battery backup on heavy uses which is just awesome.Other features are SNS integration,predictive text input,OTG support, accelerometer,proximity and light sensors etc.
CONCLUSION:-
It is nice budget smartphone but except battery power i don't think so that there is any other reason to buy this smartphone and its ram is also very low which cause hang and lags.
So i think that you should not go for this and look for other options in this budget.
